Gauntlets - 1 pt. Treasure (2 creation points)

Vicious gloves sporting an array of jagged edges and blades.  Favored by Redcaps, these large gloves have seen violent use for ages.

+2 traits each

No negative trait ("clumsy" removed by power)

Jacket Concealability

1 Lethal Damage

(combat stats as a normal pair of knives, except using “brawl” instead of “melee”; brawlx4 or ambidexterity can provide "two weapon bonus", bringing total bonus traits to +3)

Limited Trait +1 (1 point): "Scary":  Puts the person wearing them up one Trait on all Intimidation Challenges.

Remove Negative (1 point): "Fits Like a Glove":  Gauntlets do not have a negative trait.

Dry Dust – 2 pt. Treasure (4 creation points)

Kept safely in a leather pouch, this ash-like dust is a potent boon to poisoners and any Redcap who wants to teach a poor victim about the true meaning of Hunger.  Few Redcaps possess the knowledge of how to make more ashes, and those that do like to make sinister comments about their creation.

Pocket concealability.

Note: buying this as a treasure assumes that the character knows how to make Dry Dust, or has access to a source of the Dust.  The “one use per session” represents using the current supply of Dry Dust, and it is assumed that the PC renews their supply between sessions.  It’s encouraged that Players work with their ST to determine their process for making Dry Dust, and STs are well within their rights to roleplay possible complications of the Dust creation process they agree upon, whether it a grown material, ground human bones, or something even more sinister.

Minor Effect (1 point): “Just a dash”:  When mixed with food or drink, Dry Dust is undetectable.  Until the effects kick in, anyway.

Limited Trait +1 (1 point): “Swallow every bit”: When used in conjunction with ingested poisons, the poison is effectively 1 trait up in challenges against the consumer, because the food was recklessly consumed.  Of course, it has no effect if the consumer isn’t normally affected by the poison in question (such as Redcaps with any consumed poison, or a vampire with normal poison).

Medium Effect (2 points): “Eat Me”: 1 minute after being consumed with food or drink, Dry Dust causes the eater to be possessed with an incredible hunger, effectively suffering from a temporary derangement where they attempt to eat anything (or anyone) they can get their hands on.  The afflicted person may spend a willpower to resist the urge to eat a particular thing or person.  These effects last for 1 hour.

Blooded Gauntlets - 3 pt. Treasure (Redcap only) (6 creation points)

Even more terrifying than their simpler cousins, Blooded Gauntlets possess the fearsome destructive power of Gauntlets with the insatiable hunger of their Redcap wielders.  Only a Redcap wearer is able to bring out their true power, but when worn, the cruel blades move and snap of their own accord, attempting to chew into an opponent’s flesh and feast on anything in their path.

Jacket concealability

1 Aggravated Damage (changed from lethal by power)

(combat stats as a normal pair of knives, except using “brawl” instead of “melee”; brawlx4 or ambidexterity can provide "two weapon bonus", bringing total bonus traits to +3)

Aggravated (2points): "Hungry":  Does aggravated damage

Limited Trait +2 (2 points): "Scary as Fuck":  Puts the Redcap wearing them up two Traits on all Intimidation challenges.

Major Effect + Extra Static Test  (4 points, 1 point temper): "Grab and Burrow":  After each successful hit a Simple Test is made. On a Win or Tie, the Gauntlet attaches itself to the victim, causing an additional Level of Aggravated Damage automatically each round.  Once grabbed, the Gauntlet cannot be used for additional strikes (although an off-hand strike at a Two Trait penalty would allow the other Gauntlet to attack).  When hooked in, both combatants are at a Two Trait penalty to Dodge attacks made by other attackers.  Finally, the person 'grabbed' cannot use weapons with a Concealability of Trenchcoat or worse, and suffer a One Trait Penalty when using weapons of a Jacket Concealability size.

Minor Curse(1 point): "Insatiable Appetite":  The wearer must make a successful willpower challenge against 3 traits in order to remove Blooded Gauntlets. Meditation ability may be used as a retest.  If the wearer fails, he cannot remove the Blooded Gauntlets (they're still hungry, and won't let go), and he cannot attempt to remove them again for five minutes.

Grinder – (4 point treasure, 8 creation points) – Mid-Level Approval

Apparently nothing more than an old, well-used, two-foot large meat grinder, this treasure is almost always accompanied by a smell of blood and meat.  The frightful devices are favorites of Redcaps with an eye towards cuisine, intimidation, or simply those in a hurry to destroy evidence. Which is to say, all Redcaps.

+0 traits

-Clumsy

Concealability: Trenchcoat

1 Aggravated Damage (see below)

Note: Grinders may not be used as weapons, per se, but a restrained character can be slowly fed into a Grinder.  In this case it is a standard physical challenge to keep the opponent restrained while being fed into the device.  The operator of the device suffers a –2 trait penalty for attempting to operate the Grinder while grappling, but this can be overcome if a friend helps restrain the person or turn the crank.  No challenge is necessary if the victim is fully restrained and/or unconscious.

Master Effect (6 points): “What’s in that sausage?”:  Almost anything can be fed into a Grinder, and when the handle is turned, every three pounds of material is slowly ground up into a single pound of thick, pasty meat (not unlike Spam, without so much flavor).  There are no restrictions about material or size; you can grind up cars, people, buildings, and so forth, but large or inorganic materials take longer to grind.  Soft organic matter like skin and muscle takes about 1 minute hand-grinding to grind every five pounds, while hard minerals like titanium or diamond takes one minute for each pound.

Aggravated (2 points): “Grind your bones”: In addition to the horrific damage that a normal meat grinder inflicts, this supernatural mastication is difficult to heal, and incredibly painful.  But at least you’ve got something to eat.

Retest 1 (2 points): “Habeas Corpus”: Once per session, when used to destroy evidence, the Grinder’s exceptional work provides a free retest to any attempt “clean” the scene of an incident.  This may be applied to a stealth or streetwise test made by the “cleaner”, or applied as a defensive retest against an investigator.

Major Curse (2 point): “Some materials may no apply”: A Grinder cannot grind a treasure of any level.  Such items are harmlessly rejected.  If a Grinder attempts to grind a Redcap’s tooth, the entire device falls apart, and cannot be fixed.

Logi’s Ashes – (5 point treasure, 10 creation points) – High-Level Approval

The still-warm ashes of a long dead Redcap of incredible power, this treasure can lay waste to entire counties and landscapes.  The few that know of their existence are terribly careful with them, as even the tiniest pinch can be more devastating than a lifetime of famine.

Concealability: Pocket

Note: Unlike Dry Dust, this treasure is always a one-use item, and it’s destructive potential makes it such that it should only be allowed by a Regional ST in extremely controlled instances, and even then, only as a major plot point.  This treasure can effectively make an entire IC region unplayable for a year, and are best used as a threat rather than actually applied.

Master Effect (6 points): “Widespread Famine”: When sprinkled into the air, the tremendous power of Logi’s Ashes quickly causes all food and drink within miles to cease providing nourishment any nourishment at all to anyone who partakes in it.  This power continues for a year and a day, and continuously affects all sources of nourishment within the area, whether it was in the area when the ashes were sprinkled or was brought in afterwards.  In the area affected, there is absolutely no way to gain nourishment, and any food or drink consumed turn to dust in the consumers’ mouths.

Win All Ties Social (6 points): “Terror Threat”: When in a position threatening to sprinkle Logi’s Ashes, the bearer wins all ties in social challenges.  He holds all the cards, and you don’t piss off the guy with the famine bomb.

Major Limitation (2 points): “One Serving”: After Logi’s Ashes are used, the points spent on this treasure are lost, and further uses of Logi’s Ashes requires the bearer to procure more ashes (complete with buying another 5 points of treasure for them).
